
In a heart-stopping conclusion to the inaugural CFC Corporate Challenge Sevens Football Tournament, Aster MIMS emerged victorious, defeating CAFIT (Calicut Forum for IT) 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 deadlock in regulation time. The electrifying final at Cyber Sports Arena, Government Cyberpark kept spectators enthralled as both teams delivered a masterclass in competitive spirit, with the championship ultimately decided in a dramatic shootout.
Earlier in the day, Peekay Steel secured the second runner-up position by overcoming Malabar FC 3-1 on penalties following a goalless draw. The week-long tournament, organized by Calicut Football Club (CFC), saw 12 top corporate teams from Kozhikode, including Kenza TMT, myG, Xylem Learning, Paragon, and GTech, battle for glory.
The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Ahmed Devarkovil, MLA, who awarded the trophies, alongside Cyberpark GM Vivek Nair, Calicut FC CEO Colonel Korath Mathew, and Secretary Bino Jose Eapen.
